A man identified as Stephen Manu from Sepase in the Ashanti Region is demanding a DNA test from his partner, Lydia Adjei, popularly known as Akos, following a dispute over the paternity of a child he has cared for over the past ten years.

According to Stephen, he has taken full responsibility for the boy since birth. However, he was recently shocked when Lydia allegedly claimed he is not the biological father of the child.

“I came here because I have a child with a lady, and I have taken care of the child for ten years. Now, she is saying the child is not mine,” he stated.

“She told my mother that I am not taking good care of the child. I confronted her, and out of anger, I cursed her but later I reversed it. Recently, I also found out that another man bought a motorbike for the child, even though I had planned to do so myself but the mother refused.”

Stephen explained that his suspicions were further heightened after his sister informed him about a confrontation between Lydia and the said man.

“My sister told me that the man who brought the motorbike had an argument with her, and during that exchange, Akos said the child is not mine,” he added.

Frustrated and seeking clarity, Stephen appeared on Lawson TV on April 10, 2026, to request assistance in determining the true paternity of the child.

He also disclosed that he is currently married with three other children but insists on knowing whether the boy is biologically his.

Lydia Adjei, who was contacted during the live programme, denied ever stating that the child does not belong to Stephen.

She also expressed her willingness to undergo a DNA test to confirm the child’s paternity.

The host of the programme has indicated plans to consult a medical professional to conduct a DNA test in the coming days to establish the truth.
