Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, has claimed that he foresaw the recent fire outbreak that gutted parts of his guesthouse at Ashaley Botwe Junction in Accra.

According to Bishop Obinim, the incident did not come as a surprise to him, as he had received multiple divine revelations about the fire between March and April.

“I wasn’t surprised when fire gutted my building, because between March and April I had received ten revelations foretelling exactly that. It was simply the will of God,” he stated.

The controversial preacher further insisted that he had repeatedly been shown visions of the incident and challenged doubters of his claim.

“What I am saying is that if I am lying, then God should bring another fire outbreak. From March to April, God revealed to me more than ten times about the fire outbreak at my place. So, it was God’s will that the fire should come.”

He also pointed to the extent of the damage as evidence of divine intervention, noting that only the top section of the building was affected.

“It is a three-storey building, and only the top rooms were burnt. The ground and middle floors were not affected. Imagine if someone had died, how would I have saved the person?” he added.

The fire incident, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 9, 2026, affected the upper floor and roof of the three-storey structure used as a guesthouse for his business operations.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service were swiftly deployed to the scene and successfully brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building.

Reports indicate that the property, located within a compound that also houses Bishop Obinim’s residence and church facilities, sustained partial damage, with the lower sections remaining intact.
