“I recently stocked my shop, and today I have lost everything. I couldn’t salvage anything,” she said.
Another trader said she was not present when the fire started, but returned to find her shop completely destroyed.
“Everything is gone. I sell food and drinks. I was at home when someone informed me that the shop was on fire. I rushed here, and truly, it was on fire. I lost everything. We are appealing to the public to come to our aid; our livelihood is gone,” she stated.
Another affected trader also appealed to the government for urgent support.
“Right now, we don’t have anything to do. Our shops have been destroyed by fire. Unless we get help from the government, we don’t know what to do now—we have lost everything,” he said.
The incident has left many traders stranded, with growing calls for both public and government assistance to help them recover from the losses.
