A police officer stationed at the Madina Police Station has allegedly assaulted staff of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer during a disconnection exercise at his residence in Pantang, in the Greater Accra Region.

The incident occurred after a task force disconnected electricity to the officer’s home over an outstanding bill of GH¢13,191.69.

The team reportedly attempted to record the situation following the disconnection, which is said to have triggered the confrontation.
