Kwabena Yeboah has expressed support for Arteta amid struggles
Veteran Ghanaian sports journalist, Kwabena Yeboah has urged London club Arsenal to keep faith with Mikel Arteta even if the team fails to win the 2025/26 Premier League title.
According to him, Arsenal’s recent dip in form, which has reduced their lead at the top of the table to three points, is largely due to the strong performances of Manchester City.
Speaking on GTV, Yeboah cited Atlético Madrid’s long-term commitment to Diego Simeone, despite his failure to win major European trophies, as an example of why Arsenal should not see Arteta as the problem.

“The bench of City would walk into the starting lineup of many teams in Europe. That’s how powerful they are. They’ve been very dominant, though they’ve also struggled a bit in Europe recently. So I don’t think Arteta is the problem. I always cite the example of Atlético Madrid and Diego Simeone. He’s been there for 14 years, and the management’s faith in him makes a lot of sense,” he said.
He continued, “Every time they finish in the top four of the league, they go to Europe and struggle. They’ve played in the final on about three occasions, losing to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but they’ve kept faith with him because they believed he wasn’t the problem, it was the strength of the opposition. I’m hoping that even if Arsenal fails to win the title, they’ll still keep faith with Arteta. But I think he’s under so much pressure right now.”
The Premier League title race is now neck-and-neck, with Manchester City able to close the gap and level on 70 points if they beat Burnley on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
