The streets of Accra are dark at night. There are no street lights, no reflectors on curbs, no street lane and crosswalk markings. Streetlights are not working. Aboboyaas and taxi tricycles (Mahama can do) have annoyingly inundated the city. Okada riders have pitched camp irritatingly at every junction causing nuisance in neighborhoods. The zongos are sprawling and spanning and spawning. Coupled with that Moslem muezzins irritatingly disturb our sleep at dawn with their call to prayers. Christians neither give us peace with their all night prayer sessions and noisy services. Not excluding the pubs.These are the things we should be checking to avoid disasters. Driving now in Accra at night is always a brush with death. The relevant ministries must be up and doing. The municipal assemblies are useless; supervising all this chaos and confusion and crisis.
