Maxwell Kofi Jumah is a former MD of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited
Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over allegations of financial irregularities during his tenure at the state-owned company.
According to multiple reports on Tuesday, April 29, 2026, the arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct linked to his leadership at GIHOC Distilleries.
According to a post shared by Eviana Gh on social media, he was picked up on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and is currently in EOCO custody assisting with investigations.

His arrest is said to have followed a recent raid at his private residence in Kumasi.
Officers from EOCO reportedly stormed his home at Atonsu in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in his absence.
During the operation, laptops, documents, and keys were allegedly seized.
A source claimed officers arrived while Kofi Jumah was not at home and gained access to parts of the residence during the operation.
Kofi Jumah is being investigated over several allegations, including the acquisition and use of company vehicles, alleged unauthorised sale of corporate assets, and claims of inflated staff numbers during his tenure.
One of the key issues under investigation involves the sale of a Genesis G90 saloon car to him.
He is also accused of retaining two additional company vehicles after leaving office, including an Audi valued at over $60,000.
One of the vehicles was reportedly used by a family member before being returned.
Investigators are further examining allegations surrounding the sale of GIHOC properties in Tema, reportedly valued at over $700,000.
