Who at all is in control of Accra. What is the economic cost to Accra and Ghana in one month because of this stupid arrogance of Ga chiefs (or is it Ga youth)?.

Very welcome news. At least there will be one month of sanity in Accra. The streets of Accra are dark at night. There are no street lights, no reflectors on curbs, no street lane and crosswalk markings. Streetlights are not working. Aboboyaas and taxi tricycles (Mahama can do) have annoyingly inundated the city. Okada riders have pitched camp irritatingly at every junction causing nuisance in neighborhoods. The zongos are sprawling and spanning and spawning. Coupled with that Moslem muezzins irritatingly disturb our sleep at dawn with their call to prayers. Christians neither give us peace with their all night prayer sessions and noisy services. Not excluding the pubs. We should be checking all these to avoid disasters. Driving now in Accra at night is always a brush with death. The relevant ministries must be up and doing. The municipal assemblies are useless; supervising all this chaos and confusion and crisis.

I don’t like Churches making noise during the night hours when people are sleeping. But can the Ga people enforce their Traditional Religious beliefs on other religions? The Ga Traditional Authorities should not enforce their traditional beliefs and practices on other religions. They can decide not to make noise but if other religions decide not to make noise above the prescribed decibel by law, they should be left alone. Such enforcements can lead to conflicts and violence between Traditionalists, other religious groups, and even Market Women. The Ga people can’t impose their religious beliefs and practices on other religions and people. There have been conflicts between the Ga and some Churches before when the Ga tried to enforce their Traditional Religious beliefs and rites on other religions. Let them be careful because it can lead to violent conflicts.

Please, extend the deadline as just one month ban is not enough. We need peace and tranquility throughout the year. Too much noise at public places not good for our health.
