There was chaos at the burial service of one Kwaku Manu, reported to be the Akyeamehene of the Offinso Traditional Area in Anyankaso, Ashanti Region.

According to reports, the deceased had served as a linguist to a local fetish priest. Upon his death, the traditional authorities planned to conduct their own burial rites for him.

The priests of the town held various services for the deceased from Friday, May 1, 2026, until Saturday, May 2, 2026, when Kwaku was laid in state.

On Saturday, during the laying-in-state, Kwaku’s uncle who is a pastor, decided to hold a Christian burial service. He began preaching to the mourners before the body was taken to the cemetery.

However, as the pastor started his sermon, the traditional priests also began their own ceremony with drumming, dancing and gunfire, disrupting the preaching.

“God will save all sinners. God wants to save you, that is why he has given me permission to preach to you today,” the pastor was heard declaring.

Despite the noise and interruptions, the pastor did not give up. He continued preaching while the traditional priests carried on with their rituals.
