Kwame Governs Agbodza is the Minister for Roads and Highways
The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has completed a two-day inspection of road projects in the Savannah and Upper West regions, reinforcing the government’s commitment to delivering projects on time and with high quality.
After the tour, Agbodza praised three contractors for their exceptional work on ongoing projects and urged others to follow their example.
"We have seen good work from some contractors, and we commend them. Others must step up their efforts or risk having their contracts terminated," the Minister warned.
The tour included key stretches of road, such as the Wa-Han-Nadowli corridor, where the Minister recalled a previous encounter with women collecting spilled grains from the road due to its poor condition.
"I remember with concern when I saw women picking up grains along the Han-Nadowli-Wa stretch because trucks could not move smoothly. We promised to fix it, and today, the situation has improved," he said.
Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Alhassan Suhuyini, who accompanied the Minister during the tour, noted that the rehabilitation of the road has significantly improved transportation and the livelihoods of communities along the corridor.
The Ministry has stated that it will intensify monitoring of all road projects to ensure value for money and compliance with standards.
