The govt have to take a comprehensive view of all the external exams students are writing b4 18. BECE & WASSCE shd be scrapped and replaced with Extrance Exams to Tertiary Education. Primary, JHS & SHS shd be merged, so that students are taken thru 10yrs high school Education. They shd be allowed to write external exams when they are 18.With this reform it means boarding housing will also go away and replaced with Day Schools. I know there will be a lot of objection to this reform but the govt shd be firm. A Class Schools like Legon PRESEC, Wesley Girls,Prempeh,St Augustines etc shd be made autonomous for the rich in the society who will not want to join the change. Those Schools shd be ran like international schools, they shd charge their own fees and pay their staff. Ghana Govt shd not use Taxpayers monies on those schools.

The corruption in WAEC exams currently is sad. Parents are promoting it themselves. After doing extra classes and keeping children in school from 6am to 5pm, they still have no confidence in passing. In Ghana now, if you want to train your child with integrity and apply same in their exams, then it's with international education. With British Council acting as an Agent, more schools are able to afford the licence now. They also have grade 1,2 and 3 ,I learnt, based on infrastructure capacity. Your child also learns creativity and critical thinking skills needed in the 21st Century.

Unfortunately, this woman will become unpopular for saying this. The parents want it themselves. BECE/ WASSCE certificates are increasingly not recognised / respected in some places around the world. Sad
