If your Church or "Prophet" or "Man of God" is truly doing the will of God, then their priority will always be to help you to become increasingly firmly grounded in the Holy Scriptures rather than enticing you to follow their own made-up theories and strange teachings.
MOST OF THESE HERETICAL TEACHERS PUT EXCESSIVE FOCUS ON ASPECTS OF TRADITIONAL AFRICAN BELIEFS AND RELIGION. You should be worried if your Pastor spends most of his time preaching about witches and witchcraft (which inspire fear and anxiety) and especially telling you that certain members of your family are after you spiritually. These are the destructive influences that have infiltrated many Churches in Africa.
WE FOLLOW CHRIST BECAUSE HE HAS SOVEREINGHTY OVER ALL FORCES AND POWERS AND WE WILL NOT FEAR ANY FORCES OF DARKNESS ,REAL OR IMAGINED IF WE PUT OUR TRUST IN HIM THE SON OF GOD WHO CAME INTO THE WORLD LIVED,DIED FOR THE SINS OF MANKIND ,ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND NOW SITS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER PLEADING FOR THE BELIEVER. If your Church or Pastor are being obedient to the Scriptures, then they will be pointing you to Christ and teaching you to live a life submitted to God’s commands as found in the Holy Scriptures
Beware of Churches, ministries and “Men and women of God” who overemphasize “signs and wonders” and say very little about living righteous lives at home at work etc.. They usually encourage you to give money and gifts in exchange for prayers for “breakthroughs”, “prosperity”, “success” or healing. You cannot bargain with God. God has promised to care for those who love and obey Him not those who donate ill-gotten gains to their church or pastor or those who give their last cedi to a greedy materialistic pastor who has a lavish lifestyle while his Church members can barely afford one decent meal a day. WE NEED TO WISE UP. WE NEED TO STUDY THE WORD FOR OURSELVES RATHER THAN PRACTISING LAZY CHRISTIANITY BY TAKING IN WHAT OUR CHURCH OR PASTOR TELLS US. IF YOU GET TO KNOW THE SCRIPTURES THEN YOU WILL NOT FALL FOR ANY FALSE TEACHING NO MATTER WHERE IT COMES FROM.
