A Kumasi-based prophet named Kofi Mensah has sparked controversy after claiming that animals such as geckos and cats are spiritually harmful and responsible for misfortune.
Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, he alleged that the presence of such animals can negatively affect livelihoods and relationships.
“These animals are demonic. If you are a business person, your business will not progress; customers will not come. There will be broken promises, failed relationships, and a lack of blessings,” he claimed.
According to him, the animals are spiritually controlled and capable of disrupting people’s lives.
“They kill the star and blessings of people. If you see them in your room, kill them because demonic spirits operate through them,” he said.
Mensah further claimed that contact between such animals and newborns could have serious spiritual implications.
“When a child is born and such an animal touches or licks the child’s mouth, it destroys the child’s destiny,” he alleged.
He recounted a personal experience to support his claims.
“It almost happened to me when my first son was born. I found one on the bed close to the baby and immediately killed it,” he said.
He added that he adopted measures to prevent a recurrence.
“I placed two broomsticks, one at the head of the bed and one at the feet, and since then they have not come close,” he stated.
