Prophet Derrick Obeng Amoako, a young Ghanaian preacher and founder of Grace Heritage Church International, has passed away following a brief illness on Monday, May 4, 2026.
The news of his passing was officially announced on his Facebook page on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
“This is to officially announce to all friends and loved ones that our friend, pastor, prophet, teacher, father and mentor Prophet Derrick Obeng Amoako has passed on to be with the Lord. This happened on Monday, May 4, 2026,” it read.
Prophet Amoako was a well-known figure in youth ministry, with churches in both Ghana and South Africa.

He was the founder and leader of Grace Heritage Church International and had built a strong following among young Christians.
The late prophet was based in Qonce (formerly King William’s Town) in South Africa’s Eastern Cape province and was an alumnus of Kumasi Academy. (KUMACA)
Following the announcement, tributes have poured in from his congregants, the Christian community and friends.
A tribute shared by The Agyekum on social media reads, "Pastor Danny was a dedicated servant of God whose ministry exemplified integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the gospel.
"Through his teaching and public ministry, he ministered to many with wisdom and grace, leaving an enduring impact on both the CCI congregation and the broader Christian community".
