A member of the legal team of Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba and his wife has asked the Deputy Attorney General, Justice Srem-Sai, to “stop misleading the public.”

According to the lawyer, the legal team has been at the offices of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) since their clients were rearrested.

However, they claim they have been denied access to their clients, which they argue is a clear breach of the laws of the land.

He said it was therefore shocking that the Deputy Attorney General, who had allegedly not visited the EOCO premises himself, would accuse former Attorney General Godfred Dame of moving from one media house to another instead of engaging EOCO directly.

Making his case in a Facebook post, lawyer Boampong Yaw stated: “The Deputy Attorney General, with respect, must not mislead the public. Lawyers for Hanan were at the offices of EOCO immediately after his rearrest. We remained at EOCO throughout the entire day and were denied access to our client.

“Yesterday, we were again at EOCO the whole day until officers clearly informed us that we could not see our clients, even during visiting hours, based on ‘orders from above.’”

The post further stated: “Srem-Sai himself has not been at the EOCO premises, yet he continues to peddle misleading claims that are far from accurate. It therefore comes as no surprise that he struggled to defend his position during the interview.”

Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba and his wife were rearrested after the Attorney General recently dropped all charges against them.

Following the development, Justice Srem-Sai indicated in a social media post that fresh evidence had emerged in the matter and would help expedite the court process, hence the decision to withdraw the initial charges.
