Ibrahim Mahama offers cement depot job to Ghanaian xenophobia survivor

Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has offered to establish a cement distribution and construction hardware depot for Emmanuel Asamoah, a Ghanaian who recently returned from South Africa after reportedly facing xenophobic attacks.

The intervention comes days after Ibrahim Mahama assured Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his support for Ghanaians affected by xenophobia in South Africa.

During a meeting at his office, attended by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Ibrahm Mahama appealed to Ghanaians living in South Africa to consider returning home to contribute to national development.

He said his company was prepared to offer employment opportunities to returnees based on their skills and experience. Ibrahim Mahama also encouraged Ghanaians facing hardship abroad to return to Ghana to start businesses or learn vocational trades, pledging his support to help them rebuild their lives.

In addition to establishing the business, Ibrahim Mahama presented Emmanuel Asamoah with GH¢200,000 to enable him to take a one-month break to reunite with his family before relocating to Accra to begin operations.

Asamoah chose to venture into the hardware business after leaving behind his nail and hairdressing enterprise in South Africa.

Ibrahim Mahama commended Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for his commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians living in the country. He also urged Asamoah to remain strong, disciplined, and focused as he embarks on a new chapter in his life and business journey.
