Indeed to the extent that there has been no customary rites giving out the dead woman, when she was alive, in marriage, her children are considered her sole and bona-fide children and no man is factored in.

  Your daughter staying with a man and they have children died mysteriously and family cares not to probe the death, but are interested in the man coming to perform marriage rites for the dead wife before he would be allowed to the wife's burial. More so saying that the children are for the family.
