It was the same with slavery. Our vile Asante chiefs raided other tribes ,captured them and sold them to the whitemen. Today, we are blaming the whiteman for everything while worshipping our useless chiefs whose ancestors did the slave raiding and trading.
Prempeh was still doing it after it was abolished by the British in the Gold Coast in the 1830s. Yet, when he was captured and sent to exile in 1896 which stopped him from selling slaves, we still blame the British for stopping an evil and despicable man like him.
I do not blame the Chinese. We Ghanaians are the problem not different from the slavery days.

How many people have been arrested for galamsey in the past eighteen months, and how many of them have been prosecuted, and what are the outcomes of those prosecutions?

Unfortunately, Ghana doesn't have an energetic Opposition, for it's the function of the Opposition to look into the issues of how many arrests have been made, the outcome of these prosecutions, and whether foreign nationals, if convicted, are made to serve their sentences in Ghana or are quietly deported in lieu of serving time in Ghana prisons? Also, it's necessary for the public to know how many of the arrested persons have not been prosecuted, and the reasons for the lack of prosecution. An Opposition party is worthless if it can't act to keep the government on its feet.
