Only a fool or fools would trade our freedom that we have in this country by going against the law, and in the name of free speech to cause harm.

I thought Oliver Baker Vormawor was supposed to have been enrolled on a course in Cambridge. In the UK, threats to life are deemed as criminal offences and not a misdemeanor. I wonder why they kept throwing out this misdemeanor term. His suggestion for the Police to consult the Attorney General before making arrests is very problematic. The Attorney General is a cabinet minister and thus is under the direction of the President, even if we claim that the President shouldn't micromanage his appointees, unlike the IGP who is meant to be independent and not under the direction of the President. The police are not under the direction of the AG and should therefore be seen to be independent.

You are taking your advocacy a bit too far even for an astute lawyer.

BNI is a national investigative agency of Ghana. As such they are equiped with the appropriate tools and laws that other agencies of state may not have but even more so with staff trained and wirh skills and knowledge to track criminals and fraudsters who hide behind online systems to engage in crimes against humanity.

If the BNI cannot assist other state agencies in solving only crimes then what should be their mandate, Barker -Vormawor?

Making threats against the life of any person warrants an investigation by the authorities, and arrests made if evidence is there to support arrest. The ones that should not be arrested are the ones who are deemed to have defamed others, for that's a civil matter that needs to be brought in a civil court by the person claiming to have been defamed. If all lives matter, then it should not be only people who make threats against the President and high level officials that need to be investigated but rather all persons who make threats against the life of any person, for such threats bother on criminal conduct. Sorry, Barker, but making threats against the life of another person isn't free speech.
