I have been advised not to expose my family too much – Dafeamekpor

Member of Parliament for South Dayi and Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has opened up about why he keeps his family life away from social media.

This follows conversations sparked by a birthday message he recently sent to his wife, Ebi Bright, who is the Tema Mayor.

The MP explained that past experiences made him more careful about sharing photos and details about his children and family online.

Speaking on JoyNews on May 26, 2026, Dafeamekpor said some people questioned him after he posted photos of his children on social media.

“I remember about two years ago my eldest son… I posted his image and somebody called me and said, ‘that's your son?’ and I said yes. He said ‘take him off’ [social media] and I did,” he said.

He added that a similar situation happened again after he shared a photo of his youngest son.

“I think I made a mistake again and posted my youngest son. Again I was reminded so as much as possible you are ever reminded to ensure that you don't expose your children or family life too much,” he stated.

It will be recalled that the lawmaker in a post on his X page on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, shared a heartfelt birthday message to Ebi Bright, describing her as a brilliant woman, a supportive wife, and a caring mother.

The post was accompanied by beautiful photos of the Tema Mayor.

Dafeamekpor’s post quickly drew attention online, with many netizens including some notable personalities expressing shock after discovering that the Tema Mayor and the South Dayi MP are a couple.

In the message, Dafeamekpor praised Ebi Bright for her work as Mayor of Tema and wished her well.
