I agree that Ghana is tough, and that a lot is to blame on successive governments of the past and individual politicians who milked the country dry, but no one should stay in an unsuitable and deplorable situation for long and pretend everything is going on well, then profit on the back of the government when things get tougher.

Publishing the names allows everybody to see 'tribal' names so that NPP supporters would be convinced that not only non-Akans were evacuated, but names from every corner of Ghana was involved.

Those who feel ashamed of their names been published could have purchased their own plane fares.

Bye bye to any lease renewal for Tarkwa Goldfields Limited, a South African company, which had be stealing our gold for 31 years, they take whatever they want from the ground and give us what ever they feel like to bless us,, that is the truth and the outcome of all the foreign investors, mining companies in Ghana. We will never, ever again renew any lease for any foreign own mining company in Ghana, they are corrupt, evil and bunch of criminals practising illegality in our country, our leaders will foolishly and blindly give them a lease of 30 years, and what happens after that, they will mine the gold, transport it to Accra International Airport, and fly it outside the country without anyone seeing or knowing the actual quantity of gold that had left our country, all under the pretence of having a legal cover of Ghana Government approved documents plus lease, how foolish can we be. Fact is : in some countries (perhaps also in SA), a child AUTOMATICALLY gets the LAST NAME of the mother during birth (i.e last name on the mother's health insurance card). So for unmarried women, this is her own last name. For married couple, this may be the name of only one of the partners or a combination of the names, depending on how the agreed during marriage.

As a matter of fact, the hospital / maternity is the authority to write the child's last name on the birth document. For a MARRIED couple, either parent would be given a form to write ONLY THE FIRST (and if any, MIDDLE) NAME. Then to register the child at the city/town hall, the parent submits the form given to her at the hospital.

With just names (not including images and /or addresses), it will be difficult to associate any person therefore that does not constitute a violation. It is when you publish data, such that the individual may be identified (with proof!) by a third person that you can talk about violation.

To make it clear : if I publish John Smith or Kofi Manu is being deported from US, which John Smith or Kofi Manu am talking about? There are thousands of John Smiths and Kofi Manus.

However, if I say Kofi Manu, born on 6th March 1957, living at 67 Mansa Musah Street, Kokomlemle, Accra with passport No: GH6521..., then I give a traceable, unique identity of an individual and that constitutes a violation.

Do you consider it a violation, when WAEC or universities publish names of candidates? Certainly they do that without any explicit consent from the students, yet it does not constitute violation, because publishing those names do not 'reveal' any identities.

Remember however that for public /prominent personalities, they are traceable just by their names, so the case is different.........
