'How can you give birth to three in four years?' - Yandoh teases Dr Amoakohene

The Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Paul Yandoh, has taken a swipe at Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, accusing him of prioritising rapid family expansion over his official responsibilities.

In a video footage shared on X on June 8, 2026, Yandoh questioned the minister’s focus during a panel discussion.

Dr Amoakohene announced the birth of his baby on social media in a post, while congratulating his wife, Juliet Amoakohene.

The announcement included photos from the hospital and was met with an outpouring of congratulations from many Ghanaians.

However, the post also triggered significant public debate and criticism.

Many netizens questioned why the minister and his wife reportedly travelled abroad (with some reports pointing to the United States) for the delivery, despite both parents being medical professionals.

Speaking on a panel discussion in reaction to this development, Yandoh questioned why the minister had fathered three children in just four years of marriage.

He stated that Dr Amoakohene, who got married about four years ago, has already fathered three children.

“Where exactly are you rushing to, Amoakohene?” Yandoh teased the minister.

“I have never seen a minister who gave birth to three children in just four years after getting married. Ministers are meant to be working, yet the Ashanti Regional Minister has chosen to give birth while the reason he was appointed remains untouched. Did you see any NPP government appointee who ever gave birth and showcased it to the world in our time?” he quizzed.
