Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is said to be in police custody
More details appear to be emerging following the arrival of a former Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, in Ghana after her extradition from the United States of America (USA).
According to a report by Daily Graphic journalist, Kester Aburam Korankye, she arrived on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in a wheelchair with swollen limbs, raising concern about her health condition upon arrival.

A family member who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed to the Daily Graphic that she had been unwell before her transfer to Ghana.
“Arriving visibly ill with swollen limbs after being extradited from the United States of America, where she had been receiving medical treatment, a family member who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed her condition to the Daily Graphic upon her arrival on Tuesday,” the report stated.
Sedina Attionu was extradited from the United States following the approval of a request by the Government of Ghana to allow her to serve a 10-year prison sentence handed down by the Accra High Court.
Officials of the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Prisons Service have since taken her into custody and are making arrangements for her to begin serving her sentence.
Former MASLOC boss faces extradition to Ghana
She was convicted in 2024 in absentia for multiple offences, including causing financial loss to the state and stealing.
The court found that her actions during her tenure as MASLOC Chief Executive between 2013 and 2016 resulted in a loss of nearly GH¢90 million to the state.
