To carry on with the handle Pelicles, I am sure you would understand that when you borrow or acquire a loan to build or purchase and consumable goods, be they movable or immovable, you must settle all liens or holds prior to asserting sole ownership. Because the IMF loan had not been settled, the IMF lien could not be waived.

Yet it is the same NPP keyboard warriors and their mousey communications folks who are going into cocoa farms to eat with farmers in the hopes of establishing kinships. The NPP never cared about the people who have suffered significantly because of the lack of hospitals but for cheap political gamesmanship, the NPP is all ready; what a bunch of classroom trained chipmonks.

Because the NPP govt inflated the cost of equipment installed in the hospital about 11 times and World Bank refused to pay after noticing the inflated prices. Note this is a World Bank funded project. Due to World Bank refusal to pay, the contractor will not hand over the keys for commissioning until all his money is paid.

1. The NPP MP's could have had credibility if they have had the same zeal during the 8-year period when the NPP majority and the Akufo-Addo /Dr. Bawumia government could NOT operationalize a single hospital in the Ashanti region except building Dr. Bawumia's much touted multi-level toilets and
2. The visit was not to verify some unaccounted expenditure purported to have been spent at the site but for the minority MP's to carry water for the NPP flag-bearer Dr. Bawumia who is reduced to a documentation editor instead of the lousy economist he turned out to be.

The Afari Military Hospital project (also known as the Kumasi Military Hospital) was developed under a turnkey contract by Euroget De-Invest S.A, which is the principal Egyptian investment and construction firm.

The construction of the 500-bed facility is part of a broader, multi-hospital agreement originally signed with the Government of Ghana in 2008 and executed by Euroget De-Invest.

This hospital project was stated by President Kufuor. The question is why wasn’t it completed in 8 years under Mills-Mahama and another 8 years under Akufo-Addo?

On the MPs visit, why should lawmakers not follow the law? You need approval to visit military installations. The hospital now is a military installation. The MPs were wrong.
