I totally disagree with you and the court. What was the clear orders from the court that the University breached? Did the orders say that no lecturer should be dismissed untill the case is disposed off? A contempt suffice only when there is a clear & certain orders but the party disobey.

Again, it is a case between the University and the party. The dismissal was from the university not the president as a person. In this case, liability should not be saddled on the president, but the university. A slap of fine could have be OK so that the university could pay it from it's account be not an individual. Remember, the university is a legal entity on its own who should carry its cross but not the individuals working in the University.
