Farmers have ordained the use of Complete Farmer App
Ghanaians are increasingly embracing the newly launched digital agriculture platforms developed by Complete Farmer, with stakeholders describing the system as simple, efficient and capable of transforming the country’s agricultural value chain.
The platforms CF Grower and CF Buyer were officially launched in Accra on June 11, 2026, under the support of the Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness (PIAA).
According to officials, the technology is designed to reduce the long-standing challenges farmers face in accessing inputs, markets and reliable supply chains.
Farmers Describe “Stress-Free” Experience Using the App Users of the Complete Farmer system say the platform has significantly simplified farming operations that were previously manual and time-consuming.
In a pre-recorded video, one farmer described the experience as “refreshing,” noting that the platform eliminates the usual hustle of moving between markets in search of agro-inputs.
He praised the system’s user-friendly design, explaining that the steps are clearly structured to guide users from production planning through to contract completion.
A key feature highlighted by users is the customised order function, which allows farmers and buyers to select specific quality requirements while also influencing pricing based on those specifications.
Digital Tools Supporting Better Farming Decisions
The CF Grower platform provides farmers with an end-to-end digital system that supports every stage of production, including land mapping, soil analysis, crop recommendations, and agronomic guidance tailored to specific crops.
Chief Technology Officer of Complete Farmer, Kola Olajide, said the platform integrates artificial intelligence tools that allow farmers to use mobile phones to scan crops and detect nutrient deficiencies.
“Now you can use your phone to scan a crop and it can tell you where the deficiencies are,” he explained.
He added that the system was designed with smallholder farmers in mind and can function in low-connectivity areas through offline data collection supported by field agents. Once internet access is restored, all data is synchronised automatically.
Bridging Farmers and Buyers
Chief Executive Officer of Complete Farmer, Desmond Koney, said the innovation was inspired by his family background in farming and a desire to improve the livelihoods of farmers.
“My dad was a farmer, my grandfather was a farmer, and I felt the need to change the narrative of farmers,” he said.
He explained that the platform aims to connect farmers directly to buyers, helping to build more reliable and transparent supply chains across Ghana and beyond.
Stakeholders Praise Innovation and Impact
Executive Director of the Kosmos Innovation Center, Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, commended the growth of Complete Farmer, describing it as proof that innovative ideas can scale into impactful businesses with the right support.
Marketing Manager Weetsa Adinku emphasized that the initiative goes beyond technology, focusing on improving the entire “farm-to-table” journey by enhancing transparency, efficiency, and value for all actors in the agricultural ecosystem.
Government Support Seen as Key to Expansion
Officials from PIAA say the positive reception of the platforms demonstrates their potential to transform agriculture in Ghana, especially if backed by stronger government support.
They believe tools such as CF Grower and CF Buyer could significantly improve productivity, strengthen supply chains, and expand market access for farmers across the country.
