“Just like you caused me to grieve over my son… as this blood has touched the ground, anyone involved in my son’s murder, I curse you from generation to generation. You denied me justice,” she said.

According to the family, Nana Agyei had been living in an apartment on Baznicas Street in Riga.

On June 1, 2024, just days before his death, he reportedly sent a troubling voice note claiming he had been poisoned.

On June 4, 2024, relatives were informed that he had allegedly fallen from the sixth floor of his apartment and died.

In the wake of the incident, the government of Ghana intensified diplomatic engagement with Latvian authorities to demand a thorough investigation and ensure transparency in determining the cause of death.

A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has since visited Latvia to follow up on the case.
