And communities no more carry out Cleanup Communual labor to clean and desilt Gutters and waterways. Can we bring back the Compulsory Cleanup by community members? Yes, I very much remember the was done and enforced during the AFRC and the early days of the PNDC. This should be brought back and enforced.

Irresponsible misleadership. Always passing the buck. How well have you planned our cities? You have sat there and sheepishly watch people build on waterways and ramsar sites, containers and kiosks placed indiscriminately on pavements and gutters, no landscaping of any sort whatsoever etc and you say what? Human beings are naturally lawless and unless and until you enforce the law, they'll remain lawless. Leadership is cause; everything else is effect.

Under the last government, it became a fashion to stupidly get “ permission “ or a “license” to build houses and businesses in Ramsar sites, and in water courses. It was as if illiterate people were running the country. If you knew a big man in government or party, you could do whatever you wanted, even if it was the most stupid brainless thing to do. It was a type of Urban galamsey. Someone even tried to build on Parks & Gardens land !!!!

They even used the excavated material from the National Cathedral to fill the water courses and then build on top. Pure foolishness, national self destruction and a very backward mentality.

Accra’s beaches are filthy with second hand clothing, plastic bottles and all types of borla which is dumped by some of the city’s residents.

Today, with all the floods and destruction, we are paying the price for those 8 backward corrupt years. The funny thing is that the people who did all this now want to come back to government. Are we mad ???

Otherwise, there will be no hope for Ghana. So many progressive countries protect their water courses and use them for tourism, nature watching, jobs, transportation and environmental protection. God bless Ghana. We need guidance.
