An aide to Mahamudu Bawumia, Miracles Aboagye has stated that the debate over Jubilee House expenditure should be measured against promises the NDC made before returning to power.

According to him, the NDC repeatedly criticised the Akufo-Addo administration for being too expensive and pledged to reduce the burden on taxpayers.

“Felix and his government in opposition said that Nana Akufo-Addo had a bloated government which was a burden on the public purse,” he said on JoyNews.

“They made a solemn pledge to the people that when they came to office, they would run a lean government which would be less burdensome on the Ghanaian taxpayer,” he added.

Miracles argued that the current discussion stems from questions about whether that promise has been fulfilled.

“You come to office and then it is realised that the amount of money being spent is almost double of what you were criticising. That is the crux of the matter,” he stated
