Dennis Miracles Aboagye is the Fmr Municipal Chief Executive, Akuapem North
Former presidential staffer, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has questioned the government’s reliance on reduced ministerial appointments as evidence that it is running a lean administration.
Speaking on JoyNews, he said the NDC’s defence of its record has focused heavily on cutting the number of ministers.
“The NDC government’s deflection in all of this is that, you know, we have reduced the number of ministers,” he said.
Miracles argued that fewer ministers do not automatically translate into lower costs for taxpayers.
“We have reduced the number of ministers, and so the nominal headcount of reducing ministers from less than 100 to 50 is evidence that we have reduced the cost,” he said, challenging that reasoning.
According to him, Ghanaians are interested in the total cost of government and not just the number of political appointees
