  We are so insentitve to nature, nobody wants to say the truth or report any environmental infringement in the neighbourhood for fear of the unknown anymore. For many years now environmental and CSO's have vanished into thin air. There are currently two refuse disposal site operating downstream the Weija dam at Oblogo and Tetegu along the Densu river bank. The whole place is filled to the brim. I pray no one eat fish in the river. This week it was reported by the assembly man of nearby Amabftom refuse dump upstream the Weija dam impacting on water quality and cost of portable water production. Many Ghanaians seem to vent their anger and frustration on fighting against nature, by cutting trees indiscriminately, destroying forest cover, digging whole cocoa farms away, siting of filling stations on water ways to discharge effluents, filling water reservoirs and catchments for residential and commercial purposes once they can pay for a spurious environmental management plan. The case of lake Bosomtwe, Barekese reservoir encroachments still lingers on.
