Paul Yandoh has slammed Dr Amoakohene for ditching his family duties for public football screenings
Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, has launched a scathing attack on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, accusing him of ditching his family duties for public football screenings.
The criticism comes after the minister was spotted at an interchange, where he had gathered a large crowd, set up a giant screen, and joined them to watch a match.

Paul Yandoh, speaking in an interview and shared on Facebook by the minister himself on June 18, 2026, questioned the appropriateness of such behaviour, especially given the minister’s personal circumstances.
“I don’t understand what this regional minister is doing. He has gathered a crowd under the interchange, mounted a giant screen, and is seated among them,” he said.
He went on to further say that Amoakohene’s wife had recently given birth, stressing that the minister should be at home supporting his family rather than spending evenings at football events.
“This is someone whose wife has just given birth and should be at home caring for her. Instead, he spends every evening outside watching football matches, when he should be with the baby, showing love and support.”
He also raised concerns about his own safety, directly holding Amoakohene accountable as the head of security. He warned that if anything happened to him, the minister should be blamed.
“If anything happens to me, hold Amoakohene responsible. He is the head of security and is supposed to take care of me. My life is in his hands,” he emphasised.
