Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana following a visit to Canada, where she joined members of the Ghanaian diaspora in cheering on the Black Stars during their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Vice President was in Toronto to support the national team as they faced Panama.
Upon her return, Professor Opoku-Agyemang received a joyful and emotional welcome from staff and aides.

As she stepped out of the presidential vehicle and made her way through the arrival area, those gathered burst into cheers, waving and chanting affectionately.
Staff members and aides were seen smiling, clapping, and chanting in unison to celebrate her safe return.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang, visibly touched by the warm reception, smiled and waved back at the cheering crowd.
“Maame o! Denden!”, which translates as “Mummy! Welcome, Mummy!”, the crowd could be heard chanting in a video shared by Adom FM on June 20, 2026.

Meanwhile, Ghana secured a 1-0 victory over Panama, with Caleb Yirenkyi scoring a dramatic winner in the 95th minute.
