‎Private legal practitioner and member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hamza Suhuyini, has urged party authorities to invite former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, to substantiate claim that a leading member of the ruling NDC offered a lucrative contract to his wife. ‎

‎Agyapong recently claimed that during the NDC's previous time in power, someone approached his wife with a contract reportedly worth around $55–58 million, demanding an advance payment of about 7% as a kickback. ‎

‎In response, Suhuyini in a panel discussion on TV3’s New Day show on June 22, 2026, stressed the need for accountability, particularly given the current administration's anti-corruption stance. ‎ ‎

"I expect those mandated with our laws to invite Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to substantiate the allegations. I'm interested in the allegation to the effect that a leading member of the ruling NDC made an offer to his wife. ‎

‎"I'm interested; we need to know because this is a government that has vowed to deal decisively with corruption and since his assumption of office as president, President Mahama has shown fidelity and commitment to that promise and so if indeed these allegations are anything to go by, there's a need for us to know," he added. ‎

‎Suhuyini further acknowledged Agyapong' suggesting that both major parties exhibit traces of corruption. ‎

"Ken also makes the point that look, for NDC and NPP we are the same. He is concerned about the future of the youth of this country and that is a fair point. If this country is actually what we believe it is now, especially under this current administration, then I believe it is working," he stated. ‎

‎"Let the political leaders who made such an offer [be exposed]... but I can assure you that he dragged in the National Democratic Congress [NDC] into the matter when he realized that he was talking too much about the NPP. He knew that the NPP would come after him that's why he brought that equalization because you can't say for a fact," he said in the video shared on X. ‎
