'I'm the most powerful spiritualist in the world' - Kwaku Bonsam after Harry Kane saga

Controversial spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam has claimed responsibility for England captain Harry Kane's failure to score in his side's 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage match against Ghana.

In a video shared on X on June 24, 2026, Kwaku Bonsam stated that he had carried out a spiritual exercise before the Group L encounter and that his actions had prevented the England striker from scoring.

The spiritualist made the claim after Ghana held England to a goalless draw on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in their second group game of the tournament.

According to him, Kane had several opportunities during the match but was unable to convert them because of the spiritual intervention he performed.

Attributing the incident to his ancestors, he offered gratitude to them, saying, "I thank the powers of Kofi O Kofi, our ancestors of the land, that I am Kwaku Bonsam, the most powerful spiritualist in the world. Did you see Harry Kane?

“He didn't see the ball at all. God bless you all. God bless the ancestors of the land and the angels. This is us and no one can come up against us. It is finished. I just tied Harry Kane.”

The video showed what appeared to be a shrine room, with Kwaku Bonsam burning a substance resembling incense.

Also seen in the room was a blue-coloured tied object and several idols displayed around the space.

It will be recalled that before the match, Kwaku Bonsam had publicly announced that he would take spiritual action against Kane.

His comments sparked discussions and reactions on social media ahead of the game.

Ghana currently occupies second place in Group L with four points, level with England, and will face Croatia in their final group match. A positive result could secure the Black Stars a place in the knockout stage.
