Police assistant hospitalised after reportedly being shot at Dwakessiem

A Community Police Assistant, identified as Agyapong, is currently receiving medical treatment after he was allegedly shot during a violent incident at Dwakessiem in Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central Region.

According to a post shared on social media by The Newsroom on June 26, 2026, the incident occurred in the morning of Thursday, June 25, 2026, when a confrontation broke out between the officer and two occupants of a motorbike.

What started as an encounter between the parties quickly escalated into violence, resulting in the police assistant sustaining a gunshot wound.

Following the violent attack, the injured officer was rushed to the Dunkwa Municipal Hospital, where he is currently on admission and receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, the police have launched investigations into the incident.
