Screen shot from video of Maame Atta with children
A pregnant woman identified as Maame Atta who is already the mother of 23 children has made a public appeal for support, saying the burden of caring for her large family has become increasingly difficult.
In a video widely circulated on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 26, 2026, the woman pleaded with the public for support as she prepares to welcome another child.
According to the narration accompanying the video, the woman has had 10 pregnancies with her husband and is the mother of seven sets of twins and three sets of triplets.
She said she had made several attempts to prevent further pregnancies through family planning but claimed that the methods she tried were unsuccessful.
"She says that she has tried all the available contraceptives but all of them have failed to prevent her from conceiving," the narrator stated.
The woman explained that feeding, clothing, educating, and providing healthcare for her children has become overwhelming, prompting her to seek help from individuals, and organisations.
