Vladimir Putin took just 14mths to prove to Russians that he was a good leader of that country.He won the war with Chechnya, targeted the buying back of all States Companies sold to Western countries by his predecessors. That was the beginning of the change of Russian Soviet economy. Read about Russian current economy and you would understand why Putin has been there for over 17yrs. A bad leader would show signs of his inefficiency & incompetency in the first 12mths, you don't need many years to know.

Any group of politicians who know what they are sbout van do whatever within the four years. Any serious party in opposition should have its persons it intends to put in various positions ready. It can be a shortlist of anout four pesraoms for each position and immediately bictory is secured, the said shortlist prined to settle on one person. This van be done within four to six months maximum.

Now having put the goverment up to the district level in place, one should use at least three years which is over thousand days to push for any program it intends to undertake.

After that ise six months to canvas or campaign using your projects as the tagline. So please lets stop this lame excuse of time. We can gove the politician even ten years he will come to say it is still not enough. Kust farm out projects for the four year period and pursue it. If it is one which is not realisable within the four uears let it be understood that governance is a continuum or s relay race. If one is not able to finish a project he hands over to the other

Any group of politicians who know what they are about can do whatever within the four years. Any serious party in opposition should have its persons it intends to put in various positions ready. It can be a shortlist of about four persons for each position and immediately victory is secured, the said shortlist pruned to settle on one person. This can be done within four to six months maximum.

If the government is doing well the electorates will renew their term or give them more years. Mahama should not use back door to extend his stay in power.

The best practice of change in leadership would have been the British system of leadership and governance where a prime minister can be changed as result of bad leadership and performance by vote of no confidence within the prime minister own party mps .Again in the US democracy, the president ,senators and house of representatives or governors are elected to last for every 4 yrs just like Ghana so why sudden suggestion by Mahama to suggest change of 4 yrs term to 5 yrs in future. An extra 1 Yr won't solve or change Ghana's social, economic and financial crisis. What Ghana needs is a visionary leadership who is not corrupt and would be prepared to fix Ghana's problems. Ghana is blessed much with natural resources however the country continue to see deterioration in our road infrastructure, flooding, electricity supply, good water supply, proper housing planning, good drainages ,good transport system, lack of trees in the cities, lack of good infrastructure for education, tourism,health, market places .Trading activities ie hawking can be seen on the streets and pavements with cars and pedestrians, sheep's, goats and cows are easily see roaming in the cities ie Accra ,kumasi, Cape coast, Tamale ,Takoradi etc ,there is noise pollutions infront of banks with trading activities and loud music from drinking spots in the residential areas during evenings and night ,Ghana is still the only country in the world where private and public vehicles are mandatory required to put reflective stickers on car bumpers though modern cars have front and tail lights for easy visibility during night .Ghana's problems are leadership, lawlessness and political will to solve these problems and not 5yrs term in office.

If a President can't accomplish anything for Ghana in four years, what tells that President that an extra year in office will make any difference? From Zimbabwe to Uganda and now Ghana, this political nonsense and hypocrisy is all that citizens continue to hear from their selfish leaders. An extra year in office will not cure political incompetence or the lack of vision. Ghanaians want you to bring galamsey to an end as you promised; to put in place programs that will facilitate economic growth; decisions that will help Ghanaians with security in their homes and on the roads; and not the useless noise about reparations and five-year term in office for a President.
