The family of a 17-year-old senior high school graduate, David Atidoglo Kito, who has reportedly gone missing at Domeabra in the Obuasi East Municipality of the Ashanti Region, is calling on the police to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.

According to a report by adomonline.com on June 28, 2026, they are particularly asking the police to look into the role of a pastor the boy had been staying with before his disappearance.

The Obuasi District Police Crime Officer, ASP Emmanuel Adjei, said the case is under investigation as efforts are being made to find the teenager.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the boy’s father, Emmanuel Kwesi Adonu, said he received a call around 9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from Pastor Maxwell Asamoah of the Era of Charis Church. The pastor wanted to know if David had returned home to Old Edubiase in the Adansi North District.

According to the father, he told the pastor that his son had not come home. The pastor then explained that he had sent David earlier to go and switch on the church lights, but the boy never came back.

However, the family says they are not satisfied with the explanation. They claim that it is not common for only one child to be sent on such an errand, as two children are usually assigned together.

Because of this, they believe there are unanswered questions about what really happened after David left for the task. The family is therefore urging the police to invite the pastor for questioning to help clarify the situation.

Adonu stressed that the family is deeply worried and only wants to know what happened to their son.

For his part, Pastor Maxwell Asamoah confirmed to Adom News that David, who recently completed SHS, was sent to turn on the church lights but did not return.

He said he first used the community information centre to alert residents about the situation before reporting the case to the police.

Meanwhile, the police say investigations are ongoing as they continue to search for the missing boy.
