All dranage systems should be dredged and maintained during the dry season in anticipation of the raining season. The wiejia, Akosombo, and other dammed water bodies should be halfway drained during the dry season to create space for the upcoming raining season.

In the spiritual realm, it is stemming from the anger of our former heads of state and leaders who were callously murdered in June 1979. Until Ghana properly mourns them, we shall know no peace - they are very very angry for our insensitive. What wrong did they do? The annual talking has started earnestly and at the end of it all no solution is found to end the flooding. The talking will continue until harmattan sets in and we go to bed. Let's hand over Ghana to China and flooding will be a thing of the past in a matter of 2-3 years. This flooding started decades ago and it keeps escalating every year and authorities look on helplessly. What kind of plan is JDM coming to unveiled ? He has nothing to unveil coz what has he done about those promises he made in his manifesto, automatic postings of qualified health and educational, akoko nketenkete, 24-hour economy, teacher licensure exams etc ? He will come and tell us a different story next year around this time and subsequent years and then off he retires. There are promises he made which are easier and cheaper to implement than solving flooding problems but he's unable to honour them. It used to be only in Accra but now other cities like Cape coast, Takoradi etc have come on board. I don't trust our president a bit.

There are many cities that are more congested than Accra and yet, they seldom see floods, even though they experience rainfalls more than we do. So, decongesting Accra is a good idea, but it does not address the flooding situation. The new city and Accra will both be flooded if we do not address the fundamental issues causing the flooding: better drainage, more responsible citizens who will not choke the drainage systems with their sh*t and all.

And if the President wants to know what better flood drains mean, he should take a trip to Ouagadougou.
