SOUTH AFRICA IS ALMOST RIPE FOR A REVOLUTION. Revolutions are extremely dangerous events for most countries because they do not often deliver the hoped for solutions to a society’s woes and in most cases, they significantly worsen matters for decades to come. Revolutions, once they get started are extremely difficult to control by those who started or led it. Revolutions once started have a life of their own and are usually associated with massive chaos from which many countries never truly recover because of the level of destruction and dislocation to a nation’s economy, values and its social cohesion. PERHAPS THE GREATEST PERIL OF A REVOLUTION IN THE PRESENT AGE IS THE DEAD CERTAINTY THAT SOME POWERFUL FOREIGN COUNTRIES WOULD MAKE PREDATOTY MOVES TO EXPLOIT AND PILLAGE THE RESOURCES OF A COUNTRY WHERE CHAOS IS KNOWN TO REIGN- SOME SUCH MALEVOLENT FOREIGN POWERS WOULD ACTUALLY ENCOURAGE THE BREAKDOWN IN THE RULE OF LAW AND THE ENSUING SOCIAL UPHEAVAL TO MAKE IT MUCH EASIER FOR THEM TO MOVE IN AND EXPLOIT THAT COUNTRY’S RESOURCES.
South Africa with its vast natural resources would be a juicy target for malevolent foreign powers.
