Minister for Energy, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor and Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Forson
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, says the ministry has begun closer collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to align priorities and accelerate reforms aimed at transforming Ghana’s energy sector.
In a post shared on his Facebook page of June 30, 2026, Dr Jinapor disclosed that he led the heads of agencies under the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition to a strategic engagement with the Ministry of Finance to discuss key priorities across the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors.
According to him, the meeting provided an opportunity for the various agencies to present their strategic plans and identify the support needed from government to achieve their objectives.

“Each agency presented its strategic roadmap, outlining ongoing reforms, key priorities and the support required from Government to accelerate delivery across the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors,” he wrote.
Dr Jinapor also commended the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and his team for their commitment to supporting the sector's transformation agenda.
“I am particularly encouraged by the commitment of the Hon. Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and his team to work closely with us in providing the necessary support to advance these priorities, in line with H.E. President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of resetting and transforming Ghana’s energy sector,” he said.
The Energy Minister expressed optimism that stronger collaboration between the two ministries would help improve energy security, expand access to electricity, attract investment and accelerate Ghana's transition to cleaner sources of energy.
