More videos are emerging of the devastating floods that hit Ghana’s capital, Accra, and several communities in the southern part of the country on Monday, June 29, 2026.
While some of the videos captured tragic scenes of people being swept away by the floodwaters and the recovery of bodies, others show some brave Ghanaians risking their lives to save those who had been trapped by the floods.
One of the videos showed a group of young men rescuing a woman who was trapped in her vehicle in the middle of a pool of floodwater.
The video showed the men, who numbered about six, with a rope tying them together, swimming through the water to the woman’s vehicle.
Upon arriving, they opened the door of the vehicle, which was already filled with floodwater.
The men managed to take her out of the vehicle, a black 4x4 truck.
Two of the men could be seen carrying her to safety, while the others tried to salvage some of the items from her vehicle.
As the woman was being carried to safety, she could be seen giving directions to some of the men who were still standing by her vehicle.
