The fetish priestess overcome with emotion
A fetish priestess who travelled from the Volta Region to visit her family in Accra was overcome with grief after she lost two of her grand children in the recent devastating floods that hit the capital.
According to a post shared on social media by Sika Official on July 1, 2026, although the elderly woman was also caught up in the floodwaters, she was rescued but her two grandchildren were swept away.

A video accompanying the post shows the fetish priestess completely overcome with emotions.
The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has disclosed that 7,761 households were displaced while 38,802 people were affected by the devastating floods that swept through parts of the Greater Accra Region following the recent torrential rains.
Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the minister said 12 people lost their lives, while seven others remained missing as emergency agencies continued search, rescue and recovery operations in affected communities.
