Under normal conditions (of course, if you have the means), always try to have a second opinion from another doctor, if you have doubts or feel it's "too good" to be true.

I was told I had cataract, and was scheduled to have eye operation. I went out from the eye doctor's that day really not believing any of it, so I went to one of the best eye hospitals in place the following week. I never mentioned the first, previous diagnosis. In the end, they never mentioned anything close to cataract! It's been over 15 years since then, and I have been in and out of eye checks and no one else ever mentioned this famous cataract again.

Some physicians are either negligent or selfishly malicious, and I have caught them many times in faulty diagnosis or intentionally bad behavior because of money, so advised myself to verify any diagnosis I believe doubtful, elsewhere. I found out it's the always the best idea, and I have been wondering how many people doctors have killed, knowingly and unknowingly.
