Only God knows why President Mahama is dragging his feet in resolving this issue. Has anyone read about any MP tabling any motion in parliament to do something about galamsey? This is shameful and very discouraging. Mahama has more time to act rather than talking about staying in power for one more year.

I blame this government and all past governments for having neither a plan nor the guts to bring these evil galamsey operators to their knees. It's not as if these galamsey operations are taking place in the dark; they're taking place in broad daylight, in plain view. Unfortunately, Ghana voters are yet to hold their public officials accountable for a total dereliction of duty in the fight against galamsey. Always empty talk and promises, but never any meaningful plan or sincere effort to tackle the galamsey menace.
