Do they even understand the enormous contribution of Ghanaians abroad through remittances every year, and how it compares with the money generated from exports? The disconnect is staggering. At a time when ordinary Ghanaians are struggling, maintaining institutions that provide little visible value is an insult to taxpayers.

Ghana needs accountability, not more expensive structures that fail to deliver meaningful results.

The Council of State's decision is absurd, backward, and ridiculous. Ghanaians are proud and happy when their relatives in the diaspora send them money. The government is happy and proud of remittances from its diasporans and wants investments from them. The contributions of Ghanaians in the diaspora to the Ghanaian economy and development are enormous and cannot be overlooked. Notwithstanding the difficulties they have to endure abroad to make these contributions, materially, financially, and intellectually, they still love their Motherland more than most Ghanaians at home. If Ghana can appoint a South Korean, a naturalized Ghanaian, as an ambassador, why can't Ghanaian dual-citizen holders participate fully in the affairs and development of their own motherland?. Obtaining dual citizenship is not usually by choice but by the convenience of survival. Double standards, Council of State! Wake up!

If you’re Really Concerned and serious about things then get back to “FULL CITIZENSHIP “ OF GHANA. Renounce your foreign citizenship. There are many other ways to “HELP” build Ghana than occupying certain sensitive positions . Most of these guys have probably passed their ages anyway. Investing in Ghana should not be a problem. After all ,foreigners have invested in Ghana. I am highly opposed to the whole idea.

You denounce your citizenship and your loyalty to your own country and still claim that you are a loyal Ghanaian who should be appointed as the minister for Defence. The likelihood of becoming a mole for your adopted country is very high.
Go to America,the UK and many countries and there are certain jobs that are reserved for only UK and citizens the countries.

A country which records numerous traffic accidents every day due to poor driving, where houses are submerged in water when it rains, where borla (trash) is everywhere and the cities looking filthy, where people go to the hospital to die rather than be cured, where there is no running water in the taps and electricity is erratic not to mention poor public transportation. A country where corruption is rampant and state officials are very unprofessional in carrying out their duties, poor educational infrastructures, poor roads network, uncivilized population, widespread unemployment and poor political leadership, etc. etc. No rational diaspora will do away with their foreign citizenship to go and live permanently in Ghana.
