I wonder how these fools think. What are our tax payers money meant for accra is a capital city for God sake not a village to be calling everybody to come out? Use those money to buy effective cleaning machinery that will make this faster, cheap and consistent. Also pay contractors to take care of our big drains.

I remember in the 2000s kuffour introduce recycling taxes on pure water but that tax is still collected but nothing to show for it. Invest in sanitation public education to help educate the masses.

Introduce recycling plants to convert most of these plastic waste to reusable products example school desks, beach benches, public potable mobile toilets and urinals etc... until then ban plastics outright and recommend paper based solutions. Even old wood debris can be recycled into paper. introduce sorting in our public places, schools, churches, mosques, etc... provide waste seperation bins all over the city.

Create a citizen app that allow people record and take pictures of problems we have in various places as and when they come up and also have a reward system for those who report wrong doers then surcharge the defaulters 10x plus community service. Create a national service branch also focusing on sanitation and innovation.

A startup nigerian company built a bottle collection and reward system locally, why can't we do the same.
