A woman identified as Hawa has threatened to divorce her husband, Abu, just three months into their marriage, alleging that he has failed to consummate the union.
Speaking on a recent episode of Oyerepa Afutuo, a domestic affairs programme, in a video sighted by GhanaWeb on July 8, 2026, Hawa challenged her husband to prove her claims false before the studio audience.
According to her, the couple dated for two months before getting married but abstained from sexual relations because Abu insisted that his family valued chastity and did not permit premarital sex.
"We got married two months after dating, and he told me that he doesn’t get intimate on his day of birth and his father asked him to prioritise chastity, considering his commitment to his religious faith; so we didn't engage in premarital sex before marriage," she said.
Hawa alleged that since their wedding, her husband has refused to consummate the marriage, claiming he has never fully undressed before her. Abu, who was also present on the programme, strongly denied the allegation.
When asked whether they had engaged in any form of intimacy during their relationship, Hawa said her husband had resorted to other intimate acts but had failed to have sexual intercourse with her.
Abu dismissed the allegations, insisting they were untrue. In response, Hawa boldly challenged him to demonstrate before the studio audience and viewers in an attempt to prove her claims.
