A pile of refuse has taken over parts of the Dwenho Main Market at Agona Swedru in the Central Region, raising concerns among traders and residents over sanitation conditions at the facility.
A video shared on social media by The Newsroom on July 8, 2026, captured heaps of waste scattered around the market, alongside the poor state of the facility.
According to the post, residents are demanding answers from the Agona West Municipal Assembly over what they describe as the deteriorating conditions at the market.

“The situation has sparked calls for urgent intervention from the Municipal Chief Executive and relevant authorities to address the concerns and improve conditions at the market,” the post stated.
Traders and residents are calling for immediate action to improve sanitation at the market.
